In January and February 2025, São Paulo’s agribusiness exports totaled US$4.03 billion, with imports at US$1.02 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of US$3.01 billion. However, the surplus marked a 25.7% decline compared to the same period in 2024, mainly due to a drop in sugar exports, influenced by increased global supply from India, Thailand, and the EU. Despite this, São Paulo maintained its position as Brazil’s largest exporter, accounting for 18.1% of total exports. The sugar-alcohol complex, juice, and meat sectors led the exports, with coffee and forest products also playing significant roles. The soybean complex’s exports are expected to rise as harvests progress in São Paulo.
