Solid bulk was the most handled cargo type in the public ports of Rio Grande do Sul from January to May this year, reaching over ten million tonnes. Portos RS released the results on the morning of the 22nd, based on data collected and compiled by the Public Company’s statistics division. During this period, the Port of Rio Grande experienced a throughput growth of 6.04% compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 15,833,814 tonnes. The public wharf and the industrial district’s private terminals received 1,280 vessels, including merchant ships and barges. Soybeans are leading the list of goods with positive shifts in movements, which experienced an increase of 88.64%. It was followed by urea (32.91%), phosphate (31.56%), soymeal (19.05%), and potassium chloride (11.44%). Additionally, the flow of containers increased by 10.21%, totaling 244,649 units.
