The sugarcane mills in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul have reported a recovery during the current 2023-24 harvest season. They had crushed 46.3 million tons of sugarcane until November 30, 3.8% more than the previous season’s record. In comparison to the same time in the previous cycle (April to November), raw sugar crushing has grown by 16.6%. The Total Recoverable Sugars (ATR) concentration has also increased, reaching 142.50 kg per ton of sugarcane and an average of 3.32% higher than the previous cycle, suggesting superior raw material quality. Sugar output in the state has also reached a new high, topping 2 million tons, which is 55% higher than the same period in the previous cycle.
