More than twenty million tons and more than 1,800 vessels received: these are just a few of the numbers of movements in the ports of Rio Grande do Sul in the first half of 2023. The Port of Rio Grande is responsible for most of the movements, with 19,097,639 tons. Following that, are the Ports of Pelotas and Porto Alegre, with 638,976 tons and 375,697 tons, respectively. Solid bulks lead the list of cargoes, which is followed by general cargoes and liquid bulks. From January to June, 1,513 ships passed through the Port of Rio Grande, 257 barges through the Port of Pelotas and another 66 through the Port of Porto Alegre. In addition to the three public ports, the data also includes movements at private and leased terminals, in addition to the Rio Grande and EBR shipyards.
