EuroChem has recently inaugurated the Salitre Complex in Minas Gerais after investing USD 1 billion in the project. The new complex reinforces EuroChem’s position as one of the leading global fertilizer producers and marks a significant milestone for Brazil as it aims to reduce its dependence on imported inputs, which currently stands at around 85%. With a production capacity of 1 million tons of phosphate fertilizers per year, the Salitre unit will account for about 15% of the national production of this input, which will greatly contribute to the autonomy of agribusiness in Brazil. The unit will also help to meet the demand for soybean, corn, and sugarcane crops, which are the country’s main crops.
