Cane crushing totaled 26.34 million tons in the first half of November in the Center-South region, up 109.32% from the same period last year. The year-to-date result for the harvest, however, was 516.79 million tons, when compared to 517.31 million tons recorded in the same period of 2021, a fall of 0.10%. In the last fortnight, the 2022/23 harvest’s cane crushing rose, reducing the current gap in relation to the 2021/2022 cycle. Despite this condition, it is not possible yet to estimate the total amount of raw material that will be crushed by the end of the current cycle, because this will essentially depend on the rainfall in the coming months.
