ABICOM: DIESEL PRICE HAS TO INCREASE TO ACHIEVE INTERNATIONAL PARITY

Brazil’s diesel price needs to rise by BRL 0.62 per liter to be in line with the international market, according to the Brazilian Association of Fuel Importers (Abicom). The entity sees a drop of 11% in diesel prices, which tend to increase globally during the winter of the Northern Hemisphere. Diesel prices need to be readjusted to BRL 0.32 per liter in the refineries to attract imports. Petrobras said in a note “that references are not perceived in the same way by the agents, whether they are refiners or importers”, and that “it continues to monitor the market and the movements of diesel prices, which has currently experienced high volatility,”
