The Piauí state government’s commitment to completing the dredging of the access channel to the Port of Luís Correia, specifically the area designated for the fishing terminal, by December has attracted the attention of international logistics company Ashley Global and mining company Lion Mining. They are considering utilizing the new infrastructure for exporting iron ore extracted from operational deposits in Piripiri. The businessmen’s proposal involves initiating the export of ores extracted from the Piripiri deposits using the access channel of the fishing terminal. Cargo would be transshipped to a large ship anchored seven miles off the coast.
