The Department of Rural Economy (Deral) estimates 25.7 million tons of grain for the state of Parana. The new projection is 3.56 million tons of wheat compared to last month’s forecast (3.8 million tons). According to Godinho, the downward revision is due to the drought in the north and center-west of the State (- 11%), as well as the rains, and frosts in the west (-30%) and southwest (-16%) regions of Parana. For soybeans, the drought was favorable with an increase of 11%. The 600,000 hectares planted in a few days led to an increase in the sown area from 33% to 44%. About 21.5 million tons of soybeans are expected to be harvested.
