The Port of Santos has once again set new cargo throughput levels. The first half of 2022 saw the best performance for the 6-month period (80.7 million tonnes, an increase of 5.7% over the same period last year). In June alone, 14.1 million tonnes were registered, with a growth of 6.7% over the same month of 2021. Agribusiness cargoes continue to be ahead of this performance. In the first half, shipments of products from the soy complex grew by +10.9% to 26.1 million tonnes, corn by +184.1% to 1.8 million tonnes, and cellulose by +60.4% by 3.9 million tonnes. The increase of fertilizer landings (+23.1%) to 4.1 million tonnes also stood out. Also noteworthy were the shipments of meat products (+41%), with 1.2 million tonnes; fuel oil (+14.3%), with 1.4 million tonnes; citrus juices (5%), with 1.2 million tonnes; and sulfur discharges (+19.9%), with 1.0 million tonnes.
