Conab estimates an increase of 3.3% in soybeans planting, and a production projected to reach 134.5 million tons, placing the country as the world’s largest producer of oilseeds. Conab also estimates a drop of 2.1% in corn planting, and the country’s total production is estimated at 102.6 million tons. As for rice, the planted area is projected to grow by 3.2%, and production is estimated at 10.9 million tons, with 10 million tons coming from irrigated areas and 900 thousand tons from rainfed areas.
