By September 2024, Paranaguá Container Terminal (TCP) surpassed the total handling volume of 2023, reaching 1,253,397 TEUs, a 34% increase from the previous year. Exports grew by 26%, totaling 480,173 TEUs, led by the meat and frozen products sector (166,784 TEUs, or 2.7 million tons). This growth is attributed to expanded refrigerated outlets, solidifying TCP as South America’s leader in refrigerated storage. Imports also rose by 22%, driven by consumer goods, electronics, automotive, and chemical sectors. The expansion of routes increased weekly calls to 25, creating new opportunities. In 2024, TCP hired 341 new employees, exceeding 1,600 staff, with plans to reach 1,700 by year-end.
