The 2024/25 sugarcane harvest in Brazil’s North and Northeast reached 21.7 million tons by mid-October, a 1.8% increase from the prior season. Data from NovaBio show sugar and hydrated ethanol production were strong, with 1.05 million tons of sugar and 625.8 million liters of hydrated ethanol produced—19.6% and 34.1% more than the last harvest. However, anhydrous ethanol production fell by 31.2%, totaling 369 million liters compared to 536 million liters in 2023/24. Combined ethanol output slightly dropped by 0.9%, totaling 994.8 million liters. Ethanol stock stood at 400.2 million liters on October 15, 15.8% higher than last year.
