The ports of Rio Grande, Pelotas, and Porto Alegre concluded the period from January to July 2023 with a notable surge on solid bulk movement. When compared to the corresponding period in the previous year, there was an upswing of 6.95%. In tandem, the public ports of Brazil’s southernmost state recorded a cargo throughput a total of 23,732,837 tonnes. In this total, solid bulk comprised 14,738,074 tonnes, while general cargo amounted to 6,773,864 tonnes, and liquid bulk reached a total of 2,220,899 tonnes. The movment of soybeans at the Rio Grande Port increased by 67.60% year on year. Following closely behind, urea increased its movement by 32.99%, while soymeal ranked third with an 11.09% increase. Rice has increased by 10.35%, and phosphate has increased by 10.16%.
