After great results and several operational records in 2021, the Port of Vitória started 2022 with even greater numbers. In January alone, the port handled 749,885 tons of cargo, a volume 19.47% greater than 2021. Last year, the port handled 627,682 tons in January. General cargo stood out. In the first month of the year, 226,102 t were handled, up 270.72% from the same month in 2021. The main cargo handled within the category was steel products, which registered 144,662 tons. Then, liquid bulk products come in second with 112,383,000 tons handled in January. Cargoes such as gasoline, alcohol, diesel oil, and other fuels were among the main ones that passed through the port. Also, solid bulk handling increased 7.66% compared to the same period in 2021. The main highlights in this category were fertilizers, pig iron, and malt. Throughout January, 77 vessels docked at the Port of Vitória. Most of them arrived from long-haul routes (60.82%). Ships following cabotage routes along the Brazilian coast corresponded to 39.18% of vessel calls.
