Cargo handling grew 4.2% when compared to the same period in 2021, with 23 ships, mainly for export cargo. The main products handled were wind farms, non-calcined coke, calcined coke, soybean meal, and wood logs. Also, the port received its first shipment of pig iron in August. From January to August, the Port of Imbituba handled 4.9 million tons. The port authority expects to handle 7 million tons by the end of 2022.
