The Ponta do Félix port, located in Antonina on the coast of Paraná, is expected to move 2.5 million tonnes of cargo in 2023, 65% more than last year. The increase is accompanied by operational diversification and infrastructure investments. At the beginning of the year, the port invested in new maritime fenders, which provide more security during the berthing of ships. The fenders serve to cushion the impact resulting from the encounter between a vessel and the mooring structure, reducing the risk of damage. Over the coming months, the Ponta do Félix port will also see new warehouses, which will gradually allow an 85% increase in storage capacity from 280 thousand tonnes to 520 thousand tonnes. The additional space will also benefit the fertilizer market.
