PARANA: GRAIN OUTPUT TO REACH 24.7 MILLION TONS

According to the Department of Rural Economy’s (Deral) harvest report for the State Secretariat of Paraná, the summer harvest for 2022–2023 decreased by 3% in January compared to the same month last year. It is still higher than the previous two cycles, though, and depending on the climate, it might be one of the biggest cycles ever recorded. The planted area slightly increased from 6,233 thousand hectares to 6,268 thousand hectares. The area planted with soybeans climbed from 5,717,000 ha to 5,743,000 ha, while the area planted with corn increased from 383.9 ha to 386.7 ha.
