Voltalia Energia do Brasil, a company dedicated to renewable energies, has formalized a memorandum of understanding with Suape Port, establishing a close collaboration for the development of low-carbon emission industrial projects, including green hydrogen, green ammonia, and e-methanol, at the Suape Port Industrial Complex. The agreement has an initial duration of 180 days, starting from October 30, 2023. Voltalia’s proposed green hydrogen factory utilizes water electrolysis, typically powered by renewable electricity, to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The resulting hydrogen is captured, stored, and used as a clean energy source in various sectors, such as transportation and power generation. Voltalia plans to allocate a portion of the project for fertilizer production and another for export to Europe, with the company already selecting three areas in the port complex.
