The Brazilian Association of the Wheat Industry (Abitrigo) gathered representatives of grain producing states in the afternoon of last Thursday (06) in a webinar that raised expectations regarding the national grain harvest. The grain scenario in the world was presented by Head of Sales Wheat of the Russian company Sodrugestvo, Douglas Araújo, who highlighted a strong possibility of the presence of Lithuanian wheat in the Brazilian market in 2021, as an additional alternative for the national market. “The Brazilian government approved the import of Lithuanian cereal this year, but due to bureaucratic reasons, there was still no time to start negotiations. We believe that next year it will be a novelty in the market ”, he said. On the national scene, expectations for the Brazilian harvest are very positive. Climatic conditions collaborated greatly with the good development of crops in all states, which may result in a positive harvest in the coming months. Representing São Paulo, the president of the Sectorial Chamber of wheat, Victor Oliveira highlighted the possibility of a record harvest in the São Paulo fields. In Paraná, the largest producer in the country, wheat fields have also evolved very well, presenting good conditions for health and development.
