Brazilian grain exports through ports in the Amazon region reached 51 million tons by November 30 this year, according to data from the Association of Port Terminals and Cargo Transshipment Stations of the Amazon Basin (Amport). “Last year was a truly rainy year, and this year was super dry, but even so, we’ve already moved 22% more cargo by the end of November,” celebrated the association president, Flávio Acatauassú. Additionally, the organization projects that by the end of the year, the total export volume will have reached 55 million tons, representing a 32.5% growth compared to the 41.5 million tons handled in 2022, when the region accounted for 51% of the total agricultural bulk cargo handled in Brazilian ports.
