In February 2024, the sales of ethanol reached 2.82 billion liters, which marks a growth of 32.44% compared to the same period of the 2022-23 harvest. Anhydrous ethanol accounted for 998.80 million liters of the total sales, representing a 5.28% gain, while hydrous ethanol sales reached 1.82 billion liters, a noteworthy 54.24% increase. Hydrous ethanol sales in the domestic market reached 1.68 billion liters in February, a 53.91% increase over the same month last year. The demand for renewable fuels has surged due to biofuels’ strong competitiveness versus fossil fuels; even in a month with three fewer working days than January 2024, sales of renewable fuels grew by 11% per working day.
