A milestone in Ceará’s export history will be reached this December, when the first shipment of iron ore will be made directly to China, eliminating the need for intermediaries from the Southeast region. The operation, scheduled for December 20, will export 87,000 tons of iron ore from the Port of Pecém, solidifying this maritime terminal as an essential asset in the country’s foreign trade. This direct sale breaks with the traditional intermediary model, allowing the Ceará-based company responsible for the export to increase its competitiveness and add value to local production.
