BRAZIL’S SUGAR EXPORTS REACHED 1.094 MILLION TONS IN 6 DAYS/ DAILY AVERAGE IS ALMOST 130% HIGHER COMPARED TO 2023

In the first six working days of March, Brazil exported 1.094 million tons of sugar and molasses, bringing in a total of USD 565.610 million, according to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex). Brazil exported 3.017 million tons of sugar and energy industrial goods last month. By the end of March 2023, a total of 23 working days, 1.827 million tons of products had been exported, bringing in USD 834.074 million in income. Sugar and molasses exports were 182,457 thousand tons per day, a 129.6% increase over 2023’s equivalent amount of 79,460 thousand tons per day. Additionally, the transportation costs, at USD 516.70/t, are more than 13% higher.
