BRAZIL’S CENTER-SOUTH ETHANOL STOCKS REACH 5.29 BILLION LITERS

With the progress of the 2022/23 crop, ethanol tanks in Brazil’s Center-South mills continue to rise. About 971.66 million liters were added in the first half of July. Even so, ethanol stocks remain below that recorded in previous years. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) released on Wednesday, 27, at the end of the fortnight, stocks reached 5.29 billion liters, an increase of 22.5% compared to the beginning of the month. Compared to the 5.58 billion liters of the same period in 2021, however, there is a drop of 5.3%. In relation to 2020, when ethanol stocks reached 6.79 billion liters, the decrease is 22.2%. According to the Sugarcane Industry Union (Unica), the mills produced 2.23 billion liters of ethanol in the period. About 43.6% of production was stored. The entity also declared that the sale of ethanol has risen again. In the fortnight, 1.22 billion liters were traded, which would be an advance of 0.6% when compared to the same period of the previous season.
