BIOFUEL INDUSTRIES STRIVE TO REVERSE IMPORTS AND ENSURE BLEND INCREASE IN 2024

The biodiesel sector in Brazil seeks to overturn the favorable stance of the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) on imports and aims to ensure an increase in the mandatory blending ratio to diesel from 12% to 15% in 2024. The next CNPE meeting on December 14 could be decisive. The Mixed Parliamentary Front for Biodiesel and sector entities have intensified efforts to approve these agendas, discussing with Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Minister Alexandre Padilha. The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) regulated biodiesel imports to compete with 20% of the market, raising concerns in the sector.
