The company has announced plans to build a plant in Uberaba (MG) for a total cost of USD 850 million and should start work in 2024, with completion scheduled for mid-2027. The project by Atlas Agro is a component of a strategic objective to lead Brazil’s fertilizer industry’s decarbonization. In order to lessen Brazil’s reliance on imported fertilizers, the startup company intends to construct seven to nine green nitrogen fertilizer factories in the country. Green hydrogen, green ammonia, and zero carbon nitrogen fertilizers will all be produced at the facility using a matrix that is entirely pure and derived from renewable energy sources like solar and wind.
