APM Terminals, a company belonging to the A.P. Moller – Maersk, is the official winner of the judicial auction for the acquisition of an Isolated Production Unit (UPI-B Cais Sul) of the Atlântico Sul Shipyard (EAS), in the Port of Suape, in the state of Pernambuco. APM Terminals plans to invest around BRL 2.6 billion to develop and operate a container with an initial capacity of 400,000 TEUs, adding 55% more capacity in the port complex. APM Terminals plans to finalize construction within 24 month and expects the terminal to be fully operational by the end of 2025. The dredging of the access channel and the turning basin is also expected to be conclude in the Port of Suape by 2025.
