AGRO EXPORTS SET A RECORD OF USD 50.6 BILLION

Brazilian agriculture exports hit a record high of USD 50.6 billion in the first four months of this year, up 4.3% from the same period in 2022 when sales were USD 48.53 billion. According to the Brazilian Ministry (SCRI/Mapa), the increase was caused by both an increase in the number of goods exported (+2.3%) and the price index of goods (+1.9%). The index growth was primarily due to an increase in the amount of corn (+6.05 million tons) and soybeans (+1.05 million tons) shipped. In 2023, the Brazilian agribusiness sector accounted for 49% of all foreign sales in Brazil.
