Brazilian agribusiness exports generated USD 15.63 billion in revenue in August, hitting a record high for the month, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. The agricultural sector accounted for 50.4% of the country’s total exports during the month. The increase of 6.6% from the previous year is due to an increase in exported volume, driven by a record grain harvest in 78902022/23 and the reduction in international food prices. Corn, soybeans, soybean meal, sugar, and fresh chicken meat were the highlights of exports. The agribusiness trade balance for the year up to August is positive at USD 101.507 billion.
