Vast Infraestrutura, formerly known as Açu Petróleo, signed a long-term contract with Petrochina for increasing oil shipments to China at Porto do Açu, in São João da Barra, where there is a Vast terminal. The contract primarily refers to transshipment oil operations at Vast’s terminal in Açu. The agreement provides oil shipments to China with Aframax, VLCC, and Suezmax vessels. Two-thirds of the oil handled at the Açu Port goes to China. The operations outlined in this contract will take place at the Vast terminal in Açu, which is 25 meters deep, has an installed capacity of 1.2 million barrels of oil per day, and can handle up to three transshipment operations at the same time. The company began operations in Brazil in 2016 and now handles more than 25% of the oil exported by the country, with volumes increasing yearly.
