The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove) said that the percentage of the biodiesel blend needs to be defined for next year. With the ongoing 2022/23 soy season, as well as the sale of grain, and its by-products in progress, Abiove expects a quick definition, so that the sector can plan oil production, which is the most important raw material for biofuel. Currently, the mandatory blend is B10, with 10% biodiesel mixed with diesel. However, the market expects that this percentage will grow to 14% in January, and then to 15% in March. The increase is foreseen by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and will have to be discussed by the transition team of the elected government.
