In October, Brazil secured 34 new agricultural export markets, nearly matching the 35 openings of 2019, and trailing only the 55 openings in September 2024. The new markets include cotton to Saudi Arabia, corn and soy seeds to Gabon, cocoa and yerba mate to the Eurasian Union, and lamb and goat meat to Qatar. In 2024, Brazil has opened 192 new markets across 48 countries, reaching 270 since President Lula’s term began. Luis Rua, Secretary of Commerce and International Relations, highlighted Brazil’s food safety and sustainability as competitive edges. This market expansion boosts exports, with September’s agribusiness exports at a record $14.19 billion, up 3.6% year-on-year. The 12-month total reached $166.19 billion, marking a 1.8% increase.
