Exports through the Eastern Corridor of the Port of Paranaguá (Corex) totaled 11,100,407 tons from January to June 2023. The increase is 17.8% compared to the first six months of 2022, when 9,420,561 tons were handled. The volume is the highest moved in a single semester in 50 years, since the inauguration in 1973. Of the entire volume shipped by Corex in the first half of this year, soybeans accounted for 58.7% of the total. Next, soybean meal appears with a participation of 23.6% (2,629,108 tons), followed by corn, with 17.2% (1,914,439 tons), and wheat, with 0.2% (30,640 tons). In June alone, 2,085,879 tons of grain were handled. In the year-on-year comparison, the volume is 20.7% higher than the 1,727,400 tons shipped for export in the same month in 2022.
