Sales of ethanol reached 1.12 billion liters in the first quarter of May, an increase of 7.25% over the same period during the 2022–23 crop. The forecast shows two separate patterns for hydrous and anhydrous ethanol, with the former’s volume sales declining by 9.74% to 588.22 million liters and the latter increasing by 35.63% to 529.17 million liters. In the domestic market, the volume of hydrous ethanol totaled 573.72 million liters, a decrease of 11.14% over the same time period of the previous harvest. Sales of anhydrous ethanol increased by 36.61% to 508.62 million liters.
