Sao Paulo is expected to produce 308.1 million tons of sugarcane in 2022–2023, an increase of 3.2% over the previous cycle (298.5 million). Production projections increased by 8.7% from the last survey in August 2022. The Economic Department of Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Sao Paulo (FAESP) developed the data using information from the National Supply Company (CONAB). “Returning to average levels for the time, rainfall helped the crops grow well. For the producers and the economies of Sao Paulo and Brazil, it is fantastic news. Since the state is the primary producer in the nation”, said Fabio de Salles Meirelles, head of FAESP.
