In 2022, the movement of wheat cargo was the one that went through the most significant increase in the Port of Rio Grande, going from 1,396,711 tons in 2021 to 3,213,689 tons last year (+130.09). Pulp shipments experienced the second-largest increase, going from 3,501,239 tons to 3,800,653 tons, an increase of 8.55%. In Pelotas, the Germano Becker barge is moored at the public pier to load wood logs that will be transported to Guaíba for pulp processing. In Porto Alegre, the ship Bass Strait is expected to unload brewing barley after leaving the port of Rio Grande.
