Copersucar stated that one of its logistics operation’s priorities is environmental care, highlighting the work of environmental management to properly reduce landfill waste disposal. The landfill waste disposal has been reduced by 84% in the last four seasons. This is also due to the expansion of waste recycling, reuse, and composting. The volume of treated organic waste has increased by 45% since the 2018/19 season. This increase was 19% when considering only last year. “Our goal is to achieve what we call Landfill Zero. In the last two years, we have expanded the use of more honest methods, such as recycling, reuse, and composting, which has significantly reduced waste disposal at the facilities”, said Copersucar Operations Manager, Fabiano Messsias.
