The president of Petrobras Caio Paes de Andrade said that the state-owned company will invest in new exploratory oil provinces, such as the Equatorial Margin, on the coast between the North and Northeast regions. Andrade has also called attention to the need for investments in sustainability, reaffirming that the company’s focus will be on projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He points out contributions for biofuel production, such as biodieséis and bio QAV, for aviation. “Although Petrobras focus on the pre-salt layer as one of the largest provinces in the world, we are investing in new areas, such as the equatorial margin, always focusing on the environment and reducing gas emissions,” he said.
