Fuel consumption in the Otto crop in November 2018 was 1.85% higher than in 2017, according to data on the demand for gasoline and ethanol (converted to gasoline equivalent) from the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). While in November 2017 totaled 4.38 billion liters total, this year the amount reached 4.46 billion. In the month-to-month comparison, total November consumption decreased by 1.09% in relation to October, when 4.51 billion liters were consumed. Year-to-month figures follow the same line, decreasing 3.39% from the previous year – 48.88 billion liters in 2017 versus 47.22 billion in 2018. In the year-to-year comparison, consumption of hydrous ethanol also rose. In November, it accounted for 30.84% of consumer preference, with consumption of 1.94 billion liters – down 5.72% compared to 2 billion liters seen in August and an increase of 45.37% against 1,34 billion liters of November 2017. Year-to-date sales of ethanol rose 42.72% to reach 17.33 billion liters – the highest volume since 2010. Gasoline sales increased by 9.69% to 34.97 billion liters.
