Brazilian sugar exports rose 12.8% in October 2025 from a year earlier, reaching 4.2 million tons, reversing a year-long downward trend. However, sugar prices continued to fall, averaging US$396.84/t (-16.5% YoY), bringing revenue down 5.8% to US$1.67 billion. Raw sugar accounted for 3.61 million tons, while refined sugar surged 70.8% to 596,240 tons. Main buyers included China, India, and Indonesia. Cumulative 2025 exports totaled 27.61 million tons (-13.8%) and US$11.81 billion (-24.4%). Meanwhile, a 50% U.S. tariff has sharply reduced trade between the two countries, though China has significantly increased purchases.
